Over the weekend my family and I decided to visit the Aloha Zoo in Cameron, NC. This family owned zoo is home to a wide variety of rescued animals coming from mistreated environments. The proceeds from ticket sales go directly back into funding the care of the animals and upkeep of the zoo. We had a wonderful afternoon exploring the grounds, enjoying the lovely spring air and feeding the animals. As soon as we arrived we spotted peacocks roaming freely around the property. Our visit also included grizzly bears, tigers, monkeys, camels, kangaroos, and wolves! Of all the wonderful creatures we saw there my favorite was "Stretch" the giraffe whom we got to feed carrots! If you are in the area be sure to stop by the Aloha Zoo to support the local conservation efforts and have a fun day with the animals!
